A Simple Plan for Peace in the Middle East

Well, the blame Israel first crowd is at it again. First one ship is boarded, after attempting to run a blockade which was established by Israel with international support, and several lives were lost when the supposedly peaceful passengers assaulted the Israeli commando team, attempting to wrench their guns away, throwing Molotov cocktails, and beating them with iron rods.

A Malthusian Proposal

I have long been thinking about the problem of unwanted pregnancy. The solution proposed by most of the more old-fashioned Protestant Christians is just to abstain from sexual activity until marriage; and the oft-unspoken advice is to contracept in marriage to limit the number and timely arrival of children. Catholics, with all their fuss against contraception, have an abstain-until-you-are-married-and-want-children approach to this problem. Neither of these approaches deals fairly with the single biggest problem faced by people who don’t want children: unplanned sexual activity.

The Nobel Politics Prize

It's that time of the year, fall, oh fall. The leaves change colors, the rain picks up, school has kicked into full swing (even on the west coast), and of course, a certain committee in Oslo has anounced who shall receive the worlds' most coveted "intellectual" prizes. I am, of course, referring to the Nobel prize, whose winners have been announced; congratualations to those folks whose hard work and dedication have earned them a place amongst the Nobel Laureates.
